In this article, Barbara Reese is quoted as saying that " Family-Based Treatment, FBT, is now considered the First-Line-of -Treatment", for children and adolescents with eating disorders , internationally. As an early intervention, the effects of FBT can be signifigant. A successful trial of FBT can not only avert a hospitalization, FBT can avert a progessive and chronic course of an eating disorder.
